Stephen Harrison (MDIA)
Queensland property developer Stephen Harrison formed the Harrison Development Group in 2013.
Stephen is a leading property development executive with over 20 years industry experience. He has an extensive background in development management, with a Master in Project Management and is a qualified Civil Engineer. He is a highly motivated, passionate leader who uses well developed communication skills to engage with and manage the expectations of all stakeholders. This often requires persistence and resilience, two traits he has accumulated throughout his professional career.
Stephen is actively involved in adding value to the Queensland development and construction industry. He is regularly engaged by local, state and federal government leaders for his vision on matters relating to the industry. His opinion is regularly sought by media and he strongly believes in the ability to make a difference by engaging with key stakeholders and using his experience to create improved outcomes. He has shown a genuine commitment to his volunteer and advocacy roles and was appointed Vice President of UDIA (Qld) in July 2013, having served as President of the UDIA (Qld) Gold Coast Logan branch from 2010.
Stephen has also been an active Chairperson for the Gold Coast Light Rail Business Advisory Board since 2012 and has utilised his skills in urban construction to ensure that initiatives were implemented to minimise the impact on local businesses throughout the construction phase of the light rail works. He held a past role on the Mayoral Technical advisory Group for the City of Gold Coast’s CityPlan 2015 and is actively involved in the strategic and statutory planning processes in a number of local governments. He also regularly provides input to the Gold Coast Hinterland Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland Policy Board.
He has held key positions in both local government and private organisations and has reported to company boards for over a decade.
Stephen is currently the Principal of Harrison Development Group, which is responsible for the delivery of signature projects in Cairns, Coomera, Upper Coomera and Pimpama. He is also Project Director for Flinders, a 20,000 lot masterplanned community at Flagstone. Stephen was Managing Director of iLiv Property Group from 2012 to 2013 and was responsible for the delivery of its projects in Rockhampton and Mirani. He was employed at Heritage Pacific from 2004 to 2011, focusing on the delivery of its residential subdivision portfolio on the Gold Coast and in Logan City.
Prior to joining Heritage Pacific, Stephen was Project Manager for Gold Coast City Council’s revitalisation of Surfers Paradise project, the redevelopment of Hope Island and was also responsible for managing the city-wide roll out of municipal libraries.
He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and a Master of Project Management.
Wesley Hough
Wesley (Veesaunt Pty Ltd) has over 12 years’ experience in the construction and development industry. He has been responsible for the delivery of signature projects in Queensland and New South Wales. His roles have focused on land subdivisions, master planned communities, resort development and commercial development and have progressed from contracts administrator to development management.
During that period his workload has required involvement in construction, construction administration, procurement of detailed construction approvals, development scheduling, project feasibilities, value engineering, built form, management of consultant teams, costs and budget management amongst other things.
He has worked in ASX listed and private development companies, as well as engineering consultancy firms. Prior to working in conjunction with the Harrison Development Group, his past roles were as a Project Manager at Villaworld, as a contract Project Manager at Partners in Property and as a Project Manager at Heritage Pacific. Prior to that Wes spent three years at the Ray Group as a Contracts Administrator and was tasked with delivering projects in Victoria and New South Wales.
His past projects include:-
- Genesis – a 700 lot master planned community at Coomera, with a $3.5 million residents club.
- Astonbrook – a 47 premium lot subdivision in Carindale, Queensland.
- Park Vista – 108 townhouses in Mango Hill, Queensland
- Salt – a $1 billion integrated development in northern New South Wales
- Outrigger & Peppers Resort – 900 room resort in northern New South Wales
- Golden Door Health Resort – a $3.5 million health and spa facility in northern New South Wales
- “Bale” Mount Hotham – Redevelopment of Dinner Plain Village, Ski Fields, Mount Hotham Victoria.
